Last night my husband and youngest daughter accompanied me to Mears Park Kick-Off to Summer Block Party and we were immediately made to feel included and at home.
There were people of all ages, furry friends and members of our local government from ward reps to Police & Fire to @mayorcarter_.
There was delicious food and refreshing drinks from downtown businesses including @thebulldoglowertown , @lostfox_lowertown and @barreltheory.
And we enjoyed fantastic lofi/ hiphop local group @socktopusband as well as tunes from DJ Advance.
It was completely joyful from start to finish and it was a wonderful celebration of community.
While we so often hear about what is wrong with our city, Friday night was truly a celebration of everything that is going right. I can't wait to spend more of my summer evenings Downtown Saint Paul with family and friends. And I would like to invite YOU to join me!
